Hours of Work: Full time hours (37.5 hours per week), working various shifts during the week to include weekends: 07:40 - 17:40, 09:00 - 19:00, 11:40 - 22:40

Contract type: This role is Permanent

Pay rate: £11.55 per hour

Live In Option Available

About the role:

The role of kitchen assistant will see you work in all areas of the kitchen including kitchen porter, basic food preparation and adhering to cleaning schedules.

You'll be involved with the preparation of food, managing stock and wastage. This is a role where you will receive ongoing training and there is scope to progress throughout the kitchen.

This role offers variety to your working day as well as the opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry. The emphasis is always on providing exceptional customer service.
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working as part of the kitchen brigade to maintain the kitchen standards of cleanliness in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines. 

  • To assist in basic food preparation, take responsibility for deliveries, the completion of cleaning schedules and temperature checks for kitchen equipment. 

  • To add value to the efficient and profitable running of your department in order to achieve your business and personal objectives, along with those of your team and the hotel.

  • Ability to interpret and adhere to food safety Policy and health and safety regulations.

Desirable experience skills and qualifications:

  • Level 2 Food Safety

  • Experience of working in a professional kitchen

Boats: We have our own private boat service from Sandbanks Pier to get Partners to and from work, these boats run approximately once an hour between 7am - 11pm. Castello Boat berths at the jetty to the right of the Chain Ferry. 

Car parking: If you wish to park at Sandbanks (BH13 7QJ). This is on-road parking only, payable via the 'Just Park' app or at the meter on the roadside, prices vary. As staff on the island we have access to purchase an annual permit at a reduced price. Parking is free from November to March.

Buses: Buses stop at 7pm from sandbanks and all staff are required to cover late night shifts beyond the bus times.
