KCATO Communications and Engagement Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

About us

Do you want to join our growing team that is committed to improving support and opportunities for health professionals engaging in research across King's Health Partner organisations?

This new role offers an exciting opportunity to engage the community of research-active health professionals with career development opportunities available through KCATO and the wider King's Health Partnership. From setting up events, finding and communicating with these busy clinicians, monitoring impact and engagement data, we want to make sure that our communities feel supported and empowered to create and take up the opportunities available to them, and use research in their healthcare practice.

KCATO offers advice, best practice and information on navigating a clinical academic career. We run strategic capacity building schemes for health professionals in research and offer bespoke career development to individuals, cohorts and communities. All health professionals based at the organisations of King's Health Partners can access KCATO:

  • King's College London
  • Guy's and St Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust.
  • King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

We aim to build clinical academic capacity for all health professions, to provide a central visible contact point for health professionals engaged (or interested) in research, to champion clinical academic careers and to deliver bespoke development sessions to support career progression of our large, diverse community.

About the role

Are you someone who likes finding and connecting people? Perhaps you've run a great social media campaign, or run some really well-attended and exciting events? Do you have a background in health, research or a combination of the two?

We'd love to have you apply for this new role.

At KCATO, we're working really hard to find and support clinical academics, across King's College London and our three partner NHS Trusts. We know they're there, but finding them and supporting their work is a hard job. We help them navigate funding opportunities, signpost opportunities, receive training and importantly build the networks that will sustain these complex careers.

Some of these clinical academics are on specialist training schemes. But additionally, we want to support all health professionals - from midwives to physios, dentists to psychiatrists, and everyone in between - across King's Health Partners to be research active, whether that's in applying for their own funding to conduct research or undertake research training, or whether that's to build confidence in understanding research in their day to day work.

If you think that this challenge sounds like something you'd be interested in, please do read on. We work with some fascinating people, all aiming to improve the health outcomes of the populations we serve.

This is a full-time post (0.8FTE considered), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. KCATO works in a hybrid manner; we operate across all King's campuses so flexibility in location is required.

Please get in touch if you would like further information about the role.
