What we're looking for

The Project Manager will be a highly motivated individual with PM experience who has ideally stepped up from being a BA in the past. They will thrive in a fast-paced role as part of a significant program delivery for the business.

With support from Senior Project Managers and Programme Managers, the Project Manager will undertake the delivery of projects within the Group-wide business change portfolio and in accordance with the appropriate LR delivery framework.

The Project Manager will have a solid understanding and experience of project management methodologies and the application thereof and will be responsible for the delivery of the projects or workstreams that have been assigned to them.

They will have some experience in delivering projects across multiple geographies and teams simultaneously. Maritime experience is not a pre-requisite but experience working in global organisations with the cross-border challenges that can bring during transformation exercises would be invaluable.

The Project Manager will have the confidence to build relationships with and regularly liaise with, mid- to senior-level senior stakeholders, holding them to account where necessary and knowing when to escalate with the program if required.

The Project Manager will ensure that all scope is delivered on time, to agreed quality standards, and within the approved budget with appropriate monitoring and control. This includes the preparation, review, and stakeholder endorsement of all project documentation needed as part of the project.

They will be an ambassador for LR Group through successful project delivery that supports the achievement of LR's strategic goals and objectives.

The role

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of assigned workstreams and projects as measured by scope, timescale, budget, and quality of the delivered solution in accordance with the appropriate Lloyd's Register delivery framework
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects or workstreams that will be assigned from either individual or multiple project plans, dependent upon size and scale of the activity.
  • Leading of Project Teams and management of Stakeholders across LR to ensure a successful outcome
  • Scheduling of, and preparation of materials for, the Project Steering Groups with appropriate Sponsorship and representation from all key Business Areas to ensure key and timely decision making alongside the removal of any project roadblocks
  • Responsible for the preparation of regular project reports for differing audiences to include the Project Team and Key Stakeholders.
  • Preparation of all project management documentation. This includes but is not limited to Project Charters, Project Reports, Key Deliverables against Requirements, Risk & Issue Registers, Escalation Reports, Project Board Presentations, Lessons Learned Reports, Project Minutes & Actions
  • Proactively managing financial plans to support the project delivery and ensure cash-flow for each project stage. This will include regular financial reporting of spend against budget, forecast versus actuals, plus a tolerance report.
  • Creation and execution of viable project plans with clear stages & gateways that will be subject to continuous review as part of the project management process
  • Managing all stakeholders and governance of the project
  • Ensure new services are transitioned into production using the transition and quality gate framework
  • Applying and enforcing project methodology & Software/Product Lifecycle Development standards
  • Managing project risks and issues and delivering appropriate reporting. Chairing regular risk & issue review meetings where mitigations can be agreed and escalated into the Steering Group if required.
  • Responsible for the escalation of any project matters as required and through the appropriate channels

What you bring

  • Experience and knowledge of project management processes, principles and methodologies and the application thereof:
    • Recognised professional project management qualification or equivalent experience
    • Good commercial acumen able to effectively manage the third-party suppliers and the overall project budget
    • Good stakeholder management skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • The ability to identify and proactively manage project risks and to escalate in a timely fashion through the appropriate channels
  • Experience in delivering on large-scale change programs with multiple competing demands is important
  • Experience in data gathering, aggregating, and deploying would be very useful
  • Experience in process design, training design and creation, and working closely with change management previously would be advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and good negotiating and influencing skills
  • Results-oriented and customer-focused, whilst ensuring all affected teams are equally engaged and aware of project requirements in sufficient time to meet them
  • The ability to receive guidance and steer on projects and workstreams assigned
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to prioritize assigned activities
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint, and Visio. Experience in the use of Monday.com as a Project Management tool is an advantage.
