About the Role & Team

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for Material procurement of all material packages for development(s) in line with agreed site budget(s) and project delivery. They will work in partnership & co-operation with the Project Team for operational and financial delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing material tenders for project(s).
Managing supplier accounts to include raising payments, reviewing and assessing price increases and preparing and settling final accounts.
Reviewing and procuring material requests where appropriate.
Carry out detailed package review meetings & drive value engineering opportunities of design & scope information.
Financial accountability for the material budget of project Identifying & establishing appropriate products to increase efficiency of the business.
Attend design team meetings and reviewing drawing changes.
Implementation of buying function in line with the Commercial Policies & Procedures Manual.
Producing valuation reports to advise of any cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.

About you

Experience in a similar role with a track record of material procurement and management from project set up to completion.
London based residential development experience preferred.
Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to communicate with the relevant members of the Technical, Sales, Construction, Surveying and Finance teams.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Track record of delivery of large residential schemes from scheme development through to planning approval. London based residential development experience essential.

Experience of cross-functional teamworking with strong communication and engagement skills.

Degree educated with Construction experience preferred.
