Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity at Smiths Detection for a Junior Account Manager to join our passionate and high-performing commercial team.

As a Junior Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of our UK sales efforts, managing both existing and prospective customer accounts within designated market sectors. This individual contributor role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge security screening systems and contribute directly to the company's growth and success.

You'll be responsible for the full sales cycle-from identifying leads and nurturing client relationships to closing deals and ensuring customer satisfaction. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth delivery and implementation of our solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive new business opportunities and close sales with both new and existing clients.
  • Take full ownership of sales targets and develop a strategic Sales Plan for your assigned market verticals.
  • Stay on top of market trends and provide valuable insights to shape strategy and inform budgets.
  • Accurately manage your pipeline and reporting using SAP.
  • Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
  • Coordinate with internal teams-including Programs, Marketing, and Operations-for seamless project delivery.
  • Represent Smiths Detection at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and tailored proposals.
  • Uphold the highest standards of business ethics, compliance, and corporate responsibility.

What We're Looking For

  • A driven and proactive sales professional with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a passion for technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • Previous experience in B2B sales, ideally in a technology or engineering environment, is a plus.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/Training: Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience and demonstrable success in Sales/Marketing or Business Development selling capital intensive, technology products/solutions preferably homeland security-related systems.

Exposure in selling to customers in market segments such as Aviation, Ports & Borders, Urban Security and Defence.

Experience within a process driven and disciplined sales organization.

Knowledge/Skills: Self-motivated and proactive approach to managing a Sales territory

Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers/partners/prospects

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to present information in front of a large group

Fluent Arabic language preferred

  • Must be organised

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

Will be required to travel on average 50% of the month

Ability to think strategically and develop strategic plans

Ability to work independently

Deal with different personalities and overcome communication barriers, able to work effectively in a multicultural

environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Individual's primary workstation may be in an office setting or at home office. Individual will travel frequently and work at internal SD offices, customer and/or prospects' office or at trade shows.
