Job Title: Project Controller

Location: RAF Coningsby. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £37,548 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

Reporting into the Joint Avionics Service Business Lead, the role will lead the project control activities covering the activities encompassing, but not limited to, the following aspects:

  • Change Control management via project management control systems for example PM Compass, ensuring a robust project baseline position
  • Maintain the ETC tracker and PM Control systems on a monthly basis in line with the QEAC cycle
  • Managing Spend vs Budget variance reporting from Project Control Systems
  • Risk & Opportunity Management including monthly reviews ensuring risk topicality/robustness
  • Monthly Reporting to cover all aspects of Project Control and Business Operations in support of the project governance/review structure
  • Production of CSR and SSR material to ensure the business financial performance measures are met or exceeded

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proven working knowledge of project control processes and procedures
  • Able to effectively compile performance information and prepare reports
  • A good communicator with ability to interface with stakeholders, of all levels, within the organisation
  • Good experience managing multiple workloads and conflicting priorities
  • Strong presentation skills and experience Office 365, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Desirable:

  • Formal Project Management qualification (APM or equivalent)
  • Experience with PM Compass and Cobra

The Joint Avionic Solution team:

As a Project Controller within the Joint Avionic Solution at BAE Systems you will form part of an agile team that will utilise a wide range of financial and project management skills to maintain a highly strategic piece of work. The avionics team are a highly visible group that are adept at working collaboratively across multiple workstreams. They are able to manage their priorities and work to stated deadlines. As such there is a wide support network and this role will give valuable skill development such as stakeholder management, use of project management software and financial controls. This role is a great stepping stone for somebody who wants to gain valuable skills for a future career in project management.
