Together with Penguin Books, Jamie Oliver has sold more non-fiction bestsellers in the UK than any other author. As Jamie continues to lead the cookbook industry after 30 years of bestselling success, we are looking for an organised and creative individual with exceptional communication and project management skills to take Penguin's Jamie Oliver Brand Manager role.

The role

As Brand Manager here at Penguin, it will be your role to be the publishing brand guardian and champion for every Jamie book publication. You will be a part of the Penguin Michael Joseph division, working closely with and reporting to the Communications Director, and will also be liaising closely with a busy sales division, international publishers, retailers, relevant external agencies and, of course, Jamie's team as you help bring Jamie's latest book to publication on a global level. You will also be expected to manage and implement a large nationwide and international campaign, working closely with Jamie's other brands and the Jamie Oliver Ltd business.

In addition. you will be the hub of all communications and the key point of contact for the publishing project internally, externally and for Jamie Oliver Ltd.

What you'll bring

This exciting role would be suitable for someone with Marketing Manager experience or who is looking to focus on a single, significant brand. We're looking for someone to be the lynchpin between the multitude of stakeholders, and who will approach their work with creativity and flexibility.

Essential criteria:

  • An understanding of how to put together multi-platform campaigns, and proficiency in various media formats - both online and offline.
  • An interest in and engagement with the cookery market and trends.
  • A strong understanding and appreciation of brand evolution.
  • The ability to manage expectations and sensitivities with multiple high-level stakeholders, and experience managing senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, and be solutions driven and proactive.
  • The ability to balance creative and commercial requirements.

Salary

£35,000 - £40,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

Hybrid working

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will attend the office 3 days a week, potentially including ½ - 1 day a week at the Jamie Oliver Ltd office. We will discuss this in more detail during the recruitment process.
