We are currently seeking an experienced IT Support Services Specialist to join our team on a freelance basis. As an IT Support Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our clients, ensuring their IT systems and solutions are running smoothly. This is a remote position open to candidates based in the UK.
Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems and escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Install, configure, and update software and hardware systems
  • Set up and maintain user accounts and access controls
  • Perform regular system and security monitoring
  • Conduct system backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
  • Provide training and guidance to users on IT tools and systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in IT support
  • Execute new ways of working, utilizing the latest software and models disrupting the IT support industry.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Services Specialist or similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
  • Proficient in installing and configuring software and hardware systems
  • Experience with cloud-based services and solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) - This can be arranged at point of job offer.
  • Freelancer Professional Indemnity Insurance - This can be arranged at point of job offer.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and processes
  • Knowledge of remote desktop support tools and software
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Flexible schedule and availability
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages is a plus
  • Experience with Mac OS, Linux, or mobile devices is a plus
  • Support on MDM (laptop and phone) and EDR, configuration and deployment
  • Writing employee device onboarding and offboarding policies
  • Reviewing all current employees IT set up
  • Writing documentation that support the policies
  • Working on adapting all the IT-related policies
  • Proactive with Leading Projects, driving them forwards without input/ support to push forwards.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • Punctual to all remote working times and in office times if necessary.

Benefits

You will be working as a contractor under the JamPot Support Limited company name, therefore you are not a direct employee and only work as a contractor for our business.

The benefit of this structure means, all of our clients sign contracts directly with JamPot Support Limited and not you as the Contractor, therefore you are protected as a remote contractor as JamPot take care of the client service side of the function.

We are currently undertaking market research to determine to determine the pay offered for this role and will talk with you openly around your personal earning experience and expectations. This will enable us to work with our client to ensure a fair renumeration is agreed for both parties.
