Your role primarily centers on overseeing and optimizing software license management across a large and complex software estate (1200+ application families). This includes ensuring licensing compliance, the active management of license data accuracy, opportunities for simplification of our licensing position and license optimisation opportunities to drive value for money where appropriate.
We seek a highly organised individual with proven experience in software asset management, specifically licence entitlement and compliance management. Strong interpersonal skills and a process-driven approach, including the ability to implement new working practices, are essential. Experience dealing with large software vendors and complex licensing arrangements would be ideal, as would experience with SLM/SAM Pro.

We have a highly unique Software Asset Management opportunity with the chance to work with the latest technology, encouraging innovation while developing best practices to meet the extensive demand from all our UK and Switzerland businesses. This role is far more than licence compliance, it is about driving maximum value against an ever-increasing complex licence modelling environment while leading the collaboration with our IT supporting areas and key business teams to ensure cost optimisation.
You will need to both deliver to agreed targets and drive a continuous improvement culture in:
- Overseeing the continued development and oversight of Software License Management processes and procedures while maintaining licensing compliance and optimizing software utilization across 1200+ software application families.
- Leading the oversight/analysis of a large volume of software entitlement and deployment data, ensuring licencing accuracy.
- Development of our license management tooling to support strategic direction.
- Reporting compliance and spend across software estate both internally to IT stakeholders and to the business.
- Collaboration with internal software asset management teams and across the wider IT operations and security spaces.
- Identifying and implementing a range of cost saving/avoidance initiatives (including tail spend management).

Essentials
- Strong understanding of software licencing models
- Experience in a similar role at a large organisation (c30,000 employees)
- Extensive experience with Software Asset Management software and tools (such as SNOW and ServiceNow, CMDB, including licencing optimisation)
- Advising on best practice to optimise existing software assets while reducing cost, commercial, reputational and regulatory risk
- Experience of managing relationships with value added resellers
- Ability to lead the oversight and impact assessment of vendor EULA/terms of use
- Experience of working with global stakeholders
- Coordination of software license and maintenance agreement reviews
- Management and successful conclusion of software audits and any remediation plans
Desirables
- Working knowledge of ITIL v3 and ISO 19770 and/or SAM or equivalent certifications such as CSAM or equivalent
- Experience working with desktop, VDI, server and SaaS platforms
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational abilities
- Develop dashboards and reporting to support strategic decision making, cost optimization and risk management
