IT Security Project Manager

Join our team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of IT and Information Security (IS) projects, work packages and minor changes.

This will include planning technology and security projects and working in a hands-on capacity with IT and IS professionals and the business to achieve successful delivery.
What you'll do

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of delivery teams in the creation and deployment of IT and IS components and services.
  • Liaise with other subject matter experts, both internal and external, to ensure the solutions delivered align with IT and or IS strategy (including architecture, security and governance).
  • Motivate project teams to achieve delivery goals while influencing and supporting key stakeholders.
  • Execute projects through a cross-functional team consisting predominantly of matrixed staff.
  • Manage all deliveries in accordance with defined IT/IS methodologies, embracing both Agile and Waterfall principles, to aid effective and efficient delivery.
  • Meet defined time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Integrate all functions and activities necessary to perform the project to meet customer requirements, including resource planning.
  • Develop, maintain and execute project plans and work backlogs.
  • Communicate project performance and status to leadership during project boards and other reviews.
  • Execute timely and effective issue management and risk mitigation.
  • Arrange and lead project delivery meetings to track progress, ensuring swift action is taken when delivery is not in line with the baseline plan.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, providing technical and analytical guidance to the project team.

What you'll need

  • Substantial experience in managing IS/cyber security projects.
  • Some experience in Information Security assurance, penetration testing, vulnerability remediation and cyber security engineering or similar would be highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of programme and project management approaches, including Microsoft Project, Azure Dev Ops or other project/resource management tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of IT design, build and test standards, both internal and external.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex IT and IS projects and implement concepts or issues into business language.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise workloads across multiple concurrent activities.
  • Good general knowledge of all aspects of information technology and security.
  • Detailed knowledge of creating/maintaining plans.
  • A sound understanding and application of risk and issue management.
  • Advanced facilitation and communication skills.
  • IT project management accreditation, such as PRINCE2, APM or MSP.
  • A degree in a related subject is preferable.
