About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Risk and Controls Services Manager to join us in a permanent role. Managing a growing team, you'll play a leading role within the IT Risk and Controls team who provide an effective first-class line of defence for our large IT Division. Whilst managing your team of IT Risk and Controls Specialists and Consultants, you'll hold senior IT stakeholders to account, ensuring divisional activities are challenged to achieve the highest possible standards.
As the IT Risk and Controls Services Manager, you'll be confident working with senior stakeholders including our IT Director and the IT Executive team, educating, executing, and embedding the risk management strategy and approach for the division, ensuring the approach is understood and delivered successfully and communicated to all staff. Overseeing the analysis of IT risk, control, and audit data, you'll provide regular reporting to the IT Executive team and regulatory bodies as required.
You'll have an influential role in supporting internal and external audits across the division, ensuring the auditees are prepared, resourced, and open to respond to the audit teams in a timely manner, supporting the auditees to challenge appropriately and to provide fully resourced, funded, and achievable management responses to any recommendations made.
Using your experience line managing a team of IT Risk and Controls professionals, you'll lead and develop your direct reports so that they know what is expected and are able to maximise their contribution to business objectives and realise their potential.
About you
As our IT Risk and Controls Services Manager, you'll have outstanding relationship building and persuasive skills with the ability to negotiate with and influence senior stakeholders. You'll have experience of line management within a risk and control environment and have a proven track record developing your team. You'll have a strong track record of leading the delivery of risk and control assurance activities that result in successful business outcomes and have an in-depth knowledge of IT control frameworks, regulatory requirements, and relevant best practice. You'll also hold the ITIL qualification and a suitable professional qualification in risk management.
To be successful in this role, you'll also have:
- Extensive experience of performing risk and control-based reviews across an IT operation.
- Proven experience of analytical work in a governance, risk management or similar assurance function.
- Proven knowledge of project management planning processes and techniques.
- Control Objectives for Information and related Technology qualification (v4.1 or higher).
- Knowledge and experience of IT auditing (desirable).
