IT Project Manager - Glasgow Head Office

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide expert and professional delivery management services to CRH Group including shaping and successfully running a variety of IT projects and programmes, managing the link between key stakeholders and IT delivery teams. You will have exposure to several IT projects that differ in size and timescale so the ability to juggle tasks simultaneously and complete these to strict deadlines is essential. In addition to running projects, you'll be expected to aid development of best practise project management standards and quality assurance processes across IT deliveries whilst supporting fellow departments or group businesses with project management delivery advice as necessary.
PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery Management
- Shape, manage and deliver IT projects utilising relevant delivery methodologies and
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the project meets business needs building trust and confidence in IT as a supplier
- Plan and secure IT resources with relevant internal capability leads, and/or, external suppliers
- Manage multi-skilled project teams including 3rd party technical partners
- Detailed IT project planning and control including:
- Developing and maintaining a detailed IT project plan
- Managing IT project deliverables in line with the IT project plan
- Identifying and managing the delivery critical path
- Budget management (resources, license subscriptions, training, hardware)
- Recording and managing IT project issues and escalating where necessary
- Resolving cross-functional issues at the IT project level
- Managing IT project scope and change control, escalating issues where necessary
- Managing key risks and dependencies ensuring timely and effective mitigation actions
- Monitoring and reporting IT project progress and performance
- Liaising with, and providing progress updates to, project boards/business change project managers/senior IT management
- Manage IT project evaluation and dissemination activities
- Promote and develop project management best practice and the adoption of effective delivery methodologies
IT Project Management Capability Management
- Timely and effective provision of IT project management services to projects
- Capability development through the evolution and enhancement of IT project management methodologies, toolsets and colleague skillsets, aligning to industry best practice and key trends where CRH stands to benefit
- Collaborate effectively with other IT teams as well as the wider business stakeholders to ensure adequate and appropriate IT project management services
Performance Management
- Monitor and ensure that CRH IT delivery projects meet the agreed project performance criteria
- Generate statistics and prepare reports on project delivery performance as required

Professional/Academic/ Vocational Qualifications
• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in an Business-IT related subject
• 5+ years' experience as an IT PM.
• Leadership responsibility in managing multiple cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key
stakeholders
• PSM Level I
• PRINCE2 or Equivalent PM certification
Specific Knowledge
• In-depth knowledge and experience of running projects through a SDLC/ALM.
• Experience of working in an Agile delivery model - SCRUM and/or KANBAN framework
• Microsoft development stack, ideally MS Dynamics
• Microsoft Azure Cloud services
• Experience of Test Driven Development (TDD) techniques
