Salary: £54,793+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Liaising with Programme management, customer, IT Suppliers and project teams
  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium scale projects or assists with larger complex projects/ programmes
  • Provides effective leadership to the project team
  • Managing the agreement of solution to a given business need, and the optimisation of solution cost vs benefit
  • Assesses and Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools for type of project
  • Manages the change control process and assesses and manages risks
  • Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and delivers regular and accurate communication to stakeholders
  • Ensures project and product quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure
  • Ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are formally accepted, by appropriate stakeholders
  • Monitors costs, times, quality and resources used and takes action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances
  • Work alongside and liaise with the Group IM&T partners and suppliers and related BAE Systems IT Services managing those relationships effectively
  • Ensuring the project is compliant with IM&T Policies

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Previous Project Management experience with infrastructure related programmes
  • Proven experience of managing quality, cost, and schedules
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer management ability

Desirable:

  • Scrum or Agile Methodology experience
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2, APM or equivalent experience

The Engineering Systems Competency Centre team:

The ESCC team is responsible for the development and maintenance of critical engineering applications, ensuring that tools such as CATIA, CAD, and PLM systems remain within obsolescence boundaries while operating on green and yellow link networks. The team plays a key role in application-based IT projects, supporting the engineering community with robust and innovative solutions.

The ESCC team is well-established, highly knowledgeable, and extremely supportive. Their deep understanding of engineering processes ensures efficient application management and development. The team is also committed to professional growth, providing opportunities for career progression into senior project management roles, including training courses for formal PM qualifications.
