Job Description

The Technical Senior Project and Program Manager, working under minimal supervision, is responsible for managing the overall planning, execution, and delivery of high complexity (e.g. risks, budgets, timelines) technical projects and/or non-complex programs. The role is responsible for demonstrating a high level of expertise and providing technical support for assigned projects and programs. The role involves working closely with technical project and program leadership to ensure efficient project delivery, adherence to timelines, and achievement of project objectives and plays a crucial role in coordinating various project activities and aiding across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for managing the overall planning, execution, and delivery of high complexity technical projects and/or non-complex programs. Collaborates with stakeholders to align technical projects and programs with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develops comprehensive project and program plans, including defining technical requirements, estimating resources, and creating project schedules.
  • Demonstrates a high level of expertise and provides technical support for assigned programs. Makes informed decisions on technical requirements, solutions, and feasibility.
  • Creates and manages all technical project/program management artifacts adhering to company's methodology to successfully deliver the project.
  • Participate in hiring of internal and external staff as needed.
  • Provide leadership to leaders (Team Leads, Scrum Masters, Product Owners).
  • Maintains effective and ongoing communication with leaders and staff, internal and external business partners, project team members, leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Stays updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and efficiency in project/program delivery. Shares knowledge gained with others and is responsible for driving new and updated policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Enforces quality standards and technical best practices across projects and programs. Conducts regular reviews and audits to ensure deliverables meet defined quality requirements. Implements quality control measures to achieve high-quality results.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including key stakeholders, vendors and executive leadership. Manages stakeholder expectations, communicates project and program updates, and addresses any concerns or issues proactively.
  • Monitors project and program budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource utilization. Manages financial forecasts, tracks expenditures, and provides accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Identifies potential risks and develops strategies to mitigate them. Monitors project risks, assesses their impact on project objectives, and implements appropriate risk response plans to minimize the likelihood and impact of negative events.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, Program Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT or any relevant field and/or commensurate experience.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment, or remotely with limited supervision, for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required.
