Job Description
The IT Project Manager is responsible for developing and managing information technology projects and their cost, time, and scope. Responsibilities include creating a project plan, communication plan, allocating tasks, engaging resources, and setting milestones. This includes leading integrated project teams within a matrix organization (internal and external resources) to achieve successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties, activities, and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage small to medium-sized business and technology projects with low to medium impact initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business. Ensure project/program deliveries successfully support the achievement of defined objectives.
- Establish and maintain the appropriate level of governance and control over project deliveries throughout the project lifecycle, delivering business outcomes and deliverables set forth in the project charter.
- Establish the appropriate level of Project Management rigor based on the complexity and impact of the project to the division. Set and continually manage project and program expectations while holding team members accountable for achieving the work according to schedule.
- Responsible for the overall coordination, planning the work, setting milestones and deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, and reporting project status to key stakeholders, team members, and associated Program Management. This includes the development and management of all aspects of project engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
- Oversee all aspects of project work to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the constraints of budget, schedule, and customer expectations. This includes managing the day-to-day project activities and resources. Monitor staff (internal and external) performance, holding team members accountable for agreed-upon deliveries while escalating issues in a professional, timely manner.
- Provide on-site/virtual leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities, and meeting project milestones.
- Full project lifecycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to project closure.
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders. Provide regular and appropriately aligned status reporting against project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions.
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork and innovation.
- Ability to understand and work with external vendors/professional services engagements (onshore and offshore) with the help of leadership.
- Demonstrate relevant functional and technical acumen to support how solutions will address divisional goals. Seek to understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs in aligning technical and business readiness aspects of the project.
- Manage project scope and changes.
- Manage quality throughout the project lifecycle. Align with project success criteria and ensure team commitment throughout the project and program lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience.
- PMP or equivalent project management certifications (Prince II, etc.).
Experience:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience, with a full product lifecycle understanding.
- Knowledge of various delivery lifecycles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Iterative Development, SDLC/Waterfall).
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong English language skills (both verbal and written).
- ERP implementation or Digital Solution experience is required; SAP experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others, communicate effectively (written, verbal, and presentation), and exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with key project management areas such as integration, scope, time, quality, cost, resource management, communication, and risk management.
- Experience with diplomacy and motivational skills, including the ability to lead across multiple business and technology organizations.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- Demonstrated commitment to driving results.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence, facilitate, and enhance project team member performance.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging with business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
- Experience in leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding the team accountable for performance.
- Flexible, with a proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
