Job Description

We've looking for an IT Product Manager to join us in either London, Hove or Cardiff!

Acting as a conduit between the business, change and technical teams you'll ensure the need for IT change is understood and delivered proactively to reduce overall costs and risk.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with the Technical Capability Leads and Vendors to understand the key technology aspects relating to the various product lines and anticipating business need through collaboration with the Business Product Owner. Using effective communication, deep market knowledge and technical understanding, to ensure all products are fit for purpose and cost effective whilst constantly pushing the technology boundaries.
  • Developing and maintaining a Product Plans outlining the essential updates and maintenance requirements whilst aligned to strategic architectural vision and direction for the applications over time in line with the company plans, including managing a backlog of change items related to the applications with relative prioritisation
  • Acting as liaison between Business Product Owner/s and relevant teams to provide technical vision, direction and support to the Application Services Team and associated stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and IT applications and solutions developed demonstrate value
  • Ensuring that technical solutions and delivery are in alignment with product plans, roadmaps and business priorities, meeting the requirements specified at outset with a focus on the delivery of continual improvement and value outcomes.
  • Working with the Capability Leads to continuously assess details of change plans, industry best practice and application knowledge aligned to business needs, ensuring visibility of product enhancements to support decision making and sharing this information with stakeholders
  • Communicating at an expert level to ensure engagement and buy-in from stakeholders on all major decisions and strategy, as well as giving clear directions and deliverables for Application services and change teams

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience of working closely with and influencing project sponsors and project teams to understand the implications of options in relations to developing solutions
  • Experience of waterfall and agile delivery paradigms
  • Knowledge of Oracle HCM would be a huge plus!
  • Ability to develop and project a positive image of the IT function through interpersonal, written and verbal communications to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry would also be great
