IT Procurement Manager (12 month FTC)

Job Description

We are recruiting for an IT Procurement Manager to join our Finance team in London on a 12 month FTC.

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE

Global Procurement is responsible for managing the firm's procurement and supply chain activities, working across all major spend categories within a leading global law firm. The department's core mission is to maximize value from our $500m+ third party spend, manage supply chain risks, and ensure our supply chain is supportive of the firm's broader strategic and market innovation priorities.
ROLE PURPOSE
We're seeking an experienced IT Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and commercial activity across a large portfolio of integration and technology projects spanning Core IT (infrastructure, network, end‑user compute, cloud, security) and Business Technology (including HR, Finance and Marketing). You'll work closely with senior IT and business stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class outcomes across enterprise software, SaaS, applications, and IT managed services. The role will also be tasked with supporting delivery of wider synergy opportunities (strategic and tactical) outside of the formal programme structure.

This is a hands‑on role driving end‑to‑end sourcing, commercial negotiation and contracting-balancing speed-to-value for in‑flight programmes with robust risk management appropriate for a global law firm.
ROLE & RESPONSBILITIES
Sourcing and contracting

  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing for enterprise software, SaaS and IT managed services: RFI/RFP, bid evaluation, and recommendation papers as needed.
  • Run complex commercial negotiations (ensuring clear license metrics/service definitions, price caps and suitable SLAs/credits).
  • Structure and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, including for managed services, and SaaS agreements.

Programme delivery support

  • Act as the procurement lead for major integration workstreams and tech change initiatives (including HRIS/ERP upgrades and legal/knowledge platforms).
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to align sourcing and commercial milestones with programme plans.
  • Champion good commercial practice, and assist with benefit tracking and reporting

Synergy identification and tactical savings

  • Work with the IT Procurement Lead to identify synergy opportunities across integration programmes (e.g., consolidating suppliers, leveraging enterprise agreements, aligning renewal cycles).
  • Drive tactical savings initiatives such as exploiting benchmarking and market intelligence for quick wins.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with the firm's InfoSec, Data Privacy, and regulatory requirements in sourcing.
  • Work closely with the firm's in-house legal team and adhere to risk management policies to facilitate the onboarding process.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 7-10+ years in IT Procurement/Technology Sourcing, ideally in complex, global, regulated or professional services environments.
  • Proven track record procuring enterprise software/SaaS and IT managed services/outsourcing.
  • Strong contracting experience: MSAs, SaaS Agreements, SOWs, service schedules including a focus on exit/transition, benchmarking and renewal protections.
  • Demonstrable delivery on in‑flight programmes with aggressive timelines-balancing commercial rigour and speed.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, preferably in a partnership/professional‑services culture.
  • Assertive and authentic.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and in a transitional environment.
  • Resilient, and can remain focused on the bigger picture in the face of setbacks.
  • MCIPs qualification desirable.
