In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our organisation's IT operations, developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a proficient IT professional. Working alongside experienced IT engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience in managing IT projects, supporting various IT services, and implementing robust cyber security measures.

A day in the life can involve:
- Providing technical support and resolving complex IT issues for internal and external customers
- Assisting in the management of IT projects, from planning to implementation
- Supporting the maintenance and security of IT systems and networks
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement IT solutions
- Participating in the design and maintenance of websites and databases
- Contributing to the development and testing of software applications
- Assisting in the administration and security of IT systems
- Continuously learning and adapting to new technologies and industry best practices

As an IT Engineer Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to gain expertise in a wide range of areas, including IT project management, cyber security, network administration, and software development. You'll develop a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and the principles that govern their operation and security.

You will gain a vast range of useful experiences and skills whilst working towards the Level 4 Digital Infrastructure Engineer Apprenticeship qualification. As a working student your focus is to complete your studies in your 20% off the job time by learning and developing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to work towards successful graduation. You will be set objectives and goals by your training provider and manager to support your studies.

You will build your skills over a 24-month period, starting in September. These skills will help you develop personally and professionally. Your apprenticeship will be made up of classroom/virtual based training to cover knowledge, on-the-job training at your Amazon base location, online learning as well as mentoring from our experienced team members.

Basic Qualifications

- To qualify for this programme you must:
- Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026)
- Have the right to live and work in Wales (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in Wales for the entire duration of the program).
- Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Be a resident of Wales for the entire duration of the program
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later
- Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English
- Please note, if you have received educational qualifications outside of the UK then we will require a Statement of Comparability to confirm your eligibility for the scheme. Please ensure you obtain one during the application process, through UK ENIC: https://www.enic.org.uk/
- Previous qualifications will be reviewed for funding eligibility and offers are subject to funding approval
- PLEASE NOTE: This position is a 24 month fixed-term contract. You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship.
- This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has some or little knowledge/experience of the occupation
