Job Description
We're currently looking to hire an Investment Manager - Housing to join Legal and General Retirement Institutional (LGRI) Housing Investments.
This role will be responsible for supporting transactions, portfolio management and executing strategic initiatives to expand LGR's investments in the housing asset class, both nationally and internationally. These investments will feed directly into L&G's ability to win new business in the PRT market
What you'll be doing:
- Drive forward the expansion of LGR's investments across residential asset classes (e.g., Built-to-Rent, Affordable Housing), both nationally and internationally to deliver on L&G's PRT new business growth
- Optimise deal structures in line with LGRI's risk appetite, balance sheet constraints and its Solvency II / Matching Adjustment investment framework to that maximise investment returns.
- Manage the residential property investment portfolio, by assessing how new investment opportunities fit into the wider portfolio construction and optimising existing asset holdings in order to effectively manage risk and maximise value
- Manage transactions in residential asset classes, representing LGRI with third parties/LGC/LGIM as appropriate and working with the Transaction Execution function to ensure appropriate execution, implementation and ongoing monitoring
- Operate at all times within the Mandates and Risk Limits set by the Business Divisions to ensure appropriate control for the Group and ensure that the principles of Consumer Duty are embedded in day-to-day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- To be successful in this role Financial analysis / property markets experience is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication (ability to write reports/ presentations to a high standard and present these
- Experience working in front office of a bank, insurance company, asset manager or advisory boutique essential
- Transaction experience in corporate M&A gained in an advisory or direct investing role involving property and or debt
- Solvency 2 knowledge desirable
