About the team:
The Investigations Team works very closely with Business Integrity and other partners throughout the business to uphold Diageo's Breach Management Standard, and ensure all allegations of wrongdoing are investigated promptly, thoroughly, fairly, and effectively. The role will be based in the UK and has a global remit.

About the role:
This role will play a key part in ensuring we do our business the right way 'from grain to glass' across our global operations, through ensuring that our Code of Conduct and Breach Management Standard are effectively upheld, and by acting as our lead for investigations in the region.

They will act as a subject matter expert on investigation, digital forensics and eDiscovery matters. They will oversee delivery of pro-active and fit for purpose investigations management via a network of investigators in market, particularly via the provision of forensic technology support, as well as providing advice, support, and training, to develop investigations capability.

Role responsibilities:
The Investigations Manager will lead on Digital Forensic and eDiscovery capability for Diageo Global Investigations, acting as the subject matter expert for all investigations requiring digital data collection and analysis. Provide high quality analytical support to global investigators to enhance capability to conduct investigations at pace while maintaining the breach management standards of fairness, integrity, confidentiality, and agility.

Personally responsible for the conduct of more sensitive/complex internal investigations that arise, working to a high standard, ensuring alignment with regulatory and legal requirements, and working closely with other functions including Business Integrity, Global Audit and Risk, Global Business Operations, Digital & Technology, HR, Brand Protection. Making clear recommendations in concise written outputs and presenting conclusions to senior partners in an effective manner.

Oversee conduct of investigations, through analysing available data and dip sampling, review investigations performance, identify trends, gaps, educational needs etc. Proactively address via tailored training and support. Provide mentorship to investigators. Support the development of our investigations capability to enhance our ability to conduct timely and effective investigations.

Proactively identify patterns and themes arising from investigations, identify remedial actions/controls, and engage senior stakeholders to drive awareness. Identify controls failures/gaps and recommend appropriate corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence to the relevant business partners.

Experience / skills required:

  • The candidate will be an investigations and forensic technology professional, with at least 10 years relevant experience.
  • Qualifications and practical experience in digital forensic collection and analysis, and eDiscovery processing and hosting.
  • Experience in conducting and leading sensitive investigations.
  • Strong analytical capability; proven ability to determine compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and other relevant standards.
  • Ability to produce and present effective written/oral reports on complex investigations to senior executives and/or other senior stakeholders, ensuring that legal privilege is protected where necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Builds effective relationships with partners.
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism - the role requires strong ethical values.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organisation and to manage projects through and with geographically dispersed colleagues, and ability to lead through strong influence and interpersonal skills with a high level of cultural awareness, empathy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to deal with delicate situations and potentially conflicting priorities, while maintaining a diplomatic balance.
  • The role-holder must be able to travel internationally in the course of investigations.
