About the role:
The Boots Opticians Internal Communications & Engagement team supports all areas of the Opticians business with communications, events and colleague engagement. We own and manage all internal communication channels and as a small, hands-on team, we work closely with our Opticians Leadership team, giving us the opportunity to influence, innovate and lead communications in a way that works for our colleagues. We're also part of the wider Boots UK Communications community, with access to additional support and expertise when needed.
We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Internal Communications & Engagement Assistant to join our busy, creative, and collaborative team. This is a varied role, packed with opportunities to learn, grow, and get involved in a wide range of exciting initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
In this role, no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in helping us keep our internal channels fresh, engaging, and relevant, while also supporting the planning and delivery of key events and engagement programmes across the business
• Managing and updating our internal platforms including the intranet and Teams channel for both stores and the support office.
• Writing and curating engaging content for our internal newsletters and other channels
• Maintaining the internal comms planner, capturing key updates from stakeholder meetings.
• Supporting the planning and execution of major internal events such as our Annual Awards and National Conference - from logistics to creative input.
• Getting involved in the promotion and coordination of our wellbeing initiatives - working closely with our Forum Reps, Mental Health First Aiders and Menopause Champions.
• Supporting wider Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) projects and campaigns.
What you'll need to have:
• A passion for internal communication and employee engagement.
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• Organisational flair and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Confidence in working with people across all levels of the business.
• A collaborative, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
• Creative design skills are desired
• Experience with tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Canva is a bonus
