The Mattel Global Consumer Products team manages licensed product development around the world for Mattel brands.

Job Description

The Regional Creative Manager works on Hardlines Category Creative for Licensing and product development for Mattel and supports the Regional Creative Manager.

This role collaborates with the Regional Business Teams to tailor, customize, and translate global CP (Consumer Products) creative strategies & assets for each region/market. This position collaborates with the Global Creative team on trends and needs for their region and provides the necessary creative assets for regional programs. The role works with the Regional Business team to pitch new business and drive product development/ programs. This includes Product development, mocking up necessary visuals, inspiring collections, and product, providing feedback and hardlines creative approvals. The role maintains communication with regional priority licensees and the global creative team, and the Regional Creative Manager, to ensure successful execution and visibility of the product line.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide creative strategic direction and support to priority regional licensees/programs
  • Develop regional category toolkits and inspiration based on brand vision and regional market needs
  • Immersion in current and emerging consumer and licensing trends and interpret them in work
  • Provide feedback and review marketing for priority regional licensees/programs, including social posts, e-comm materials, and photoshoots
  • Provide feedback on global asset development to ensure they work for the region/market
  • Shepherd Creative Product development across specified categories
  • Partner with cross functional creative teams to ensure creative consistency
  • Manage logistical aspects of projects, project tracking and sharing within the org

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Design or relevant experience OR
  • 5-7+ years relevant experience in Licensing, Product or Toy design
  • Working on a Global Team/Business
  • Brand Approvals experience including experience with Brand Comply or similar tools
  • Creative design or product development background; Hardlines experience an asset
  • Advanced skills in Power Point and Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Familiar with online Data Asset Management (DAM) systems
  • Ability to work on multiple projects / brands simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as presentation skills required
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the Consumer Products industry (Branding, Design, Advertising)
