Role: Deputy Centre Manager for Step Forward Money Advice (SFMA)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
Hours: 18.75 per week (0.5 FTE)
Days: It is a requirement to work Tuesdays, with the remaining hours to be worked Monday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Salary: £27,830 p.a., (pro rata), £1,159.58 gross income per month
General Responsibilities:
To work alongside, and support the SFMA Centre Manager by ensuring the centre provides a quality debt advice service, whilst meeting statutory and Community Money Advice (CMA) membership requirements. The deputy manager will support the centre manager in managing the team and day to day operational tasks necessary to run a professional service, which positively reflects the Christian faith that is in keeping with the Vision and Values of Trent Vineyard.
Specific duties include:
- To help train and induct new volunteers as well as ensuring the provision of ongoing up to date training for the team
- To have an overview of all clients receiving help from SFMA, so that they receive the correct advice and an excellent service, understanding the issues involved and leading interviews where necessary.
- To support the SFMA manager in giving advice and support to the SFMA volunteer team, to allow them to excel in their work in helping anyone in debt or with money problems.
- To represent SFMA to the church, to clients, to referrers, to the finance industry and other partner organisations professionally.
- To understand and commit to the aims and principles of SFMA ensuring continual compliance with their policies and procedures.
- Interview potential clients & volunteers.
- Managing the diary with the Centre Manager - allocating tasks to team members
- Supporting in the production of spreadsheets and reports re funding
- Collating stories from clients re impact reporting and to encourage the team
- Assist with planning, training and the delivery of money and debt advice for clients, the church and wider community, both at Trent Compassion as well as in the local community via video conferencing and in person meetings where appropriate.
- Attending SFMA, Compassion and wider team meetings as required, including occasional evenings.
- To be flexible as the job changes, taking on new areas of responsibility at the request of the SFMA manager and relinquishing other roles as the staff team and volunteers develops and responsibilities change.

Person Specification
- Be a Christian*
- Demonstrate an understanding of God's heart for Justice.
- Be loyal to the Senior Pastors, Trent Vineyard and the Vineyard Churches movement
- Be able to demonstrate a commitment to the Vision & Values of Trent Vineyard and Trent Compassion
- Have a recognised Debt Advisor qualification or demonstrate the ability & willingness to be trained to "Generalist Debt Adviser" standard and undertake CPD
- Have experience of working in the debt advice sector
- Discreet and trustworthy, able to maintain strict confidentiality and remain impartial at all times.
- Have effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in a large or small group setting as well as one to one
- Be able to plan and organise projects and events
- A flexible approach and the willingness to work as a part of a team
- Resilient under pressure
- Effective time management
- Have ability to keep appropriate boundaries and be able to work with vulnerable people / people in need
- Be able to handle own and other's emotions well
- Be able to manage and deal with change
