About the Role.

We have an opportunity for an exceptional and dynamic individual to join us as Interim Head of Content. This role is to cover a transitional period and is being offered on a 6-month fixed-term basis.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will steer our Content team with your expertise and experience. Your main purpose in the role will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality content strategies and services to our clients, fostering strong relationships and driving content excellence.

You'll support and develop your team, collaborating with other Heads of Department to ensure the agency runs seamlessly and innovates continually to elevate performance.

What You Can Expect Day-to-Day.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the Content team, establishing strong relationships with direct reports and coaching them to develop and achieve their full potential.
  • Team Values: Role model and facilitate a respectful and psychologically safe space that welcomes creative challenges and big ideas.
  • Quality Control: Ensure quality control of client work by reviewing the output from the Content department, ensuring alignment to social best practices, client brand, and strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes to continually improve campaign performance and team efficiency.
  • Content Strategy: Oversee and support the development of social-first, audience-centred content strategies for our clients.
  • Strategic Counsel: Provide strategic guidance to client accounts, building trusted client relationships.
  • Capacity Utilisation: Work with the Operations Director to ensure billable capacity across the team is in line with business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build relationships and work collaboratively with other departments such as design, insights, performance, and client services to ensure cohesive campaigns.
  • New Business: Support new business efforts by interacting with prospective clients, generating proposals, and delivering pitches.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay informed about social industry trends and advances in digital advertising, providing thought leadership across multiple social media platforms.

Who You Are

Our ideal candidate is passionate about developing a positive and productive working environment and culture. To be successful, you'll need to understand the agency landscape, including experience managing budgets and financial reporting.

You'll also need:

  • Significant experience in a marketing/media agency environment, preferably with experience in social media.
  • Strong leadership skills with significant experience in line management, leading, motivating, and mentoring teams.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding writing, proofreading, and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience in digital marketing with expert knowledge of content strategy and copywriting best practices.
  • Strong experience creating social content strategies for a variety of B2C and B2B brands.
