Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:
The role will provide leadership to the Finance functions at Morpeth ensuring the department is compliant with relevant standards and policy. Responsible for managing the production, spending and capital analysis related activities for the Morpeth site the role will drive processes to ensure maximization of EBITDA targets and operating cash flow through strong working capital control practice.

The role will be a member of the Site Leadership Team and will ensure that the financial information relating to the business function is timely and accurate and relevant for decision-making.

The role will also ensure that the department operates in compliance with legal, statutory, accounting standard and company operating policies & procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and motivate the team, in improving current performance, delegating new activities, or changing activities where appropriate and setting key accountabilities through the PMP process and regularly reviewing.
  • Works with the SLT to set out the Financial Strategy for the site, to grow the site revenues and profitability in line with long range plans and Group requirements.
  • Identify EBITDA and Working Capital improvements across the site, ensuring they are fully evaluated and where applicable implemented successfully.
  • Provide financial information in support of new business RFPs to ensure the correct cost and pricing decisions are made and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all internal and external management information requirements are adhered to in terms of time, content, and quality of information.
  • Ensure all sizeable variances in the management accounting results are fully understood and business reasons are documented by the Analysts. As issues are identified through the analysis process, ensure they are followed up in a manner to optimise EBITDA and Working Capital for the site.
  • Lead the business analyst team in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts. Understand sizeable variations against prior forecasts and budget and take action as appropriate to maximise EBITDA and Working Capital. Lead the revision process with the Morpeth site leadership team.
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained in accordance with MOQs, safety stocks and other site procedures. Review inventory holding to maximise working capital cash flow.
  • For standard costing and inventory disposals, ensure Finance SOP's are followed; carrying out obsolescence reviews, reviews out of sequence stock, reviews of stock on non release status, review product transfer activities, review materials with no demand or demand less than stock holding and produce quarterly summary.
  • Collate all sales, production and spending issues and prepare the site Management Pack (including P&L, Balance sheet and Cash Flow and other supporting schedules) for review with the Site Leadership Team.
  • Lead the business analyst team through the budget process; develop and analyse all sales & production volume drivers with customer services, analyse yields, scrap and process hours with business analysts and production. Review headcount and overhead expenditure. Prepare budget schedules and lead the revision process with the Morpeth site leadership team.
  • Responsible for the Site Financial Performance metrics, setting targets, updating data, and commentary & identifying ongoing improvements.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
Educated to degree level with membership of relevant body (ACCA/CIMA)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of leading in a fast-paced highly regulated environment.
  • Financial/cost accounting experience managing multiple cost centers and budgets.
  • Team player with strong customer orientation and ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to navigate conflict and solve complex problems while seeing tasks and projects through to completion.
  • Effective communication is critical
  • Ability to drive for results in the personal, team, and organisational performance
