Interim Communications Manager (Maternity cover)

This is an exciting time to join our team as we are currently embarking on the launch of global brand refresh that will give our business a strong foundation to support our growth ambitions.

You will be joining a global multidisciplinary marketing team who are responsible for the brand, reputation and communications for the practice. Our role is to deliver a strategy that promotes and protects our brand and reputation and supports the practice's vision, values and strategic objectives.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, this role will be responsible for developing the marketing and business development strategy for the UK & Ireland region and would suit a person with a broad marketing communications experience who has operated within the built environment or professional services sector.

Roles and responsibilities

Thought Leadership:

To work closely with directors and senior staff to develop thought leadership content to position BDP as leading experts. To optimise thought leadership content through a multi-channel communications strategy including securing speaker opportunities.

Market Sectors:

To develop with Sector Leads, a marketing and business development strategy for the region that will enable us to raise our profile and win work. To support all the Directors with the tactical implementation of the plan ensuring it delivers return on investment.

Media Relations:

To support the media relations manager with identifying and collecting project and topic news where appropriate to gain media coverage for the practice.

Marketing Communications:

Be able to assess, develop and implement the appropriate marketing communications mix (events, videos, social media, advertising, sponsorship, direct marketing, campaigns etc) to reach key audiences.

Digital and web site:

To ensure the web site contains current and accurate news and content that supports the UK & Ireland strategy. To identify and use relevant social media and other digital platforms within UK that will optimise our profile.

Collateral:

To work with colleagues to develop global collateral but champion important market or cultural requirements that need to be considered for your markets. Develop collateral such as advertising, leaflets, brochures within brand guidelines that meet the needs of your customers and markets

Profession Marketing:

This role will also be responsible for providing marketing and communications support for 4 key professions: Interior Design, Civil & Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering and Town Planning.

A key strength for BDP is our multi-disciplinary offer to the market, so our professions (as well as our sectors) must have a strong profile to support them with winning direct commissions.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified
  • Several years' experience
  • Team player - enjoys collaborating with colleagues to achieve business goals
  • Have strong influencing and collaboration skills to gain buy-in to marketing initiatives
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, copywriting and presentation skills
  • Experience of working across the marketing communications mix
  • MS Office Suite - intermediate level
  • InDesign - desirable
  • CRM - Desirable
