This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Company Description
Navantia UK is a new force in British industry, supporting the UK's defence, energy and maritime ambitions. We're doing this by creating state-of-the-art sovereign defence capabilities, investing in the UK to modernise industrial facilities, and bolstering the nation's energy security. Established in 2022, Navantia UK is a subsidiary of Navantia SA, a Spanish state-owned company with over 300 years of naval shipbuilding history. In January 2025, Navantia UK completed the acquisition of Harland & Wolff and its four historic facilities in Belfast, Appledore, Methil, and Arnish. By combining Harland & Wolff's proud heritage and facilities with Navantia's global expertise, Navantia UK is well-positioned to strengthen Britain's defence, maritime and energy industrial capabilities, supporting jobs and economic growth across the UK.
Job Description
At Navantia UK, we are going through a significant transformation - and we are looking for someone who doesn't just "manage change," but owns it end-to-end from a people and culture perspective. This role is about getting things to actually happen. It requires someone who is comfortable working in the reality of the organisation: diagnosing situations first hand, engaging directly with teams, building practical plans, and following through until change is truly adopted. You will be responsible for understanding what is really going on in the business, identifying cultural and behavioural barriers, and designing and executing actions that drive adoption - not just on paper, but in day-to-day ways of working.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will personally lead diagnosis, planning, engagement, measurement, and follow-up.
The Role
- Take full ownership of change and adoption challenges from a people and culture perspective, from initial diagnosis through to sustained implementation.
- Go beyond frameworks - observe, listen, and engage directly with teams and leaders to understand real issues on the ground.
- Conduct practical, experience-based diagnostics, including stakeholder conversations, workshops, and on-site observation.
- Translate insights into clear, actionable change plans that are realistic and tailored to the organisation's context.
- Actively follow up and chase actions, ensuring commitments turn into tangible progress across teams.
- Design and deliver engagement activities, workshops, and conversations that drive alignment and momentum.
- Build and execute communication and adoption plans, including presentations, updates, and reports (a lot of PowerPoint - and doing it well).
- Define and track adoption and behaviour metrics, regularly assessing what is working and what is not.
- Continuously listen to the organisation through formal and informal channels, adjusting plans based on feedback and reality.
- Identify cultural blockers and behavioural patterns, and implement practical interventions to address them.
- Work closely with leaders, supporting them in taking accountability for change within their teams.
- Provide clear, structured reporting to leadership, with honest insights and pragmatic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in change, organisational development, or transformation roles, with a strong focus on execution and adoption.
- A practical, hands-on mindset - someone who is comfortable getting into the detail and making things happen.
- Strong ability to diagnose situations independently, without relying only on formal frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create clear, impactful presentations and reports.
- High level of proactivity and ownership - you don't wait for direction, you drive things forward.
- Resilience and patience - able to persist, follow up, and navigate complexity to get results.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.
- Comfortable working in environments where things are evolving and not always structured.
- Experience in industrial or multinational environments is a plus.
