Role Description
Inspection Underwriters are the first point of contact for all customers of the Engineering Inspection Services. To work as part of this successful and dynamic branch, you will be customer focused, and team oriented to deliver an excellent customer journey.
Your main role is to meet all business targets in relation to Inspection products for the UK region. The servicing of Broker and Client accounts within your own panel and ensuring you underwrite within defined parameters in a consistent and profitable manner.
This role can be based in either of our London or Guildford offices. This is a Hybrid role with expectations of being in the office 2-3 days per week.
Salary Information
Circa £35k Per Annum
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- On a daily basis, you'll ensure customer satisfaction by building rapport and provide excellent service to external and internal customers and in the long term, ensure customer new business growth and retention you will:
- Build strong relationships with brokers, including attending virtual & face-to face meetings, negotiating effectively, and providing excellent customer service at all times
- Handle general customers' queries via the telephone and in writing within agreed service standards.
- Underwrite existing business and mid-term adjustments including analysis and compilation of data for referral.
- Negotiate within authority and referring where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
- Calculate, negotiate and invite renewal terms in line with external and internal deadlines. Anticipate likely objections and build effective responses
- Work as part of a close-knit team
- Support the wider teams by being proactive, enthusiastic and by challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone.
- Provide suggestions to continuously improve the business in an ever-changing environment
Essential Skills
- Previous experience working within Insurance or Financial Services is essential
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Able to take initiative and be proactive within a team
- Attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Passionate about your development with a Commitment to progressing towards CII qualifications
- A positive "can do attitude" with the ability to demonstrate Allianz's values of 'Be Brave', 'With Heart', 'Inspire Trust', 'Be Responsible' in your day-to-day behaviour.
