Purpose of the Role

As an Insolvency Case Administrator Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for your own portfolio case, mainly corporate but with some personal insolvency matters, from initial engagement to closure, as well as assist the team on more complex matters and provide general support. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in the firm's networking and business development functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up new cases on IPS.
  • Preparing initial notices to stakeholders and monitoring the associated decision processes/assisting with virtual meetings.
  • Drafting Statements of Affairs, Declarations of Solvency, Deficiency Accounts and other statutory documents.
  • Ensuring initial statutory tasks as per the IPS diary and post-appointment case checklist are completed following appointment on new case.
  • Ensuring that dividends are notified, admitted, calculated and paid within the required time frame, using the case checklist and adhering to IPS diary prompts at all times.
  • Reviewing cases for closure; completing all outstanding issues, including making dividend distributions to all types of creditors.
  • Ensuring all tasks and cases are administered in compliance with the insolvency legislation; completion of ethical, AML, GDPR and other checklists.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in a similar insolvency role
  • Familiarity with insolvency software, such as IPS.
  • Strong understanding of insolvency legislation, compliance requirements, and ethical guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial reports, including case reviews and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of corporate and personal insolvency procedures, including CVLs, MVLs, administrations, and bankruptcies.
  • Ability to identify potential risks or complications in insolvency cases and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Proactive approach to learning and staying up-to-date with changes in insolvency practices and regulations.
  • Desirable: Membership in or progress toward a professional insolvency body, such as the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA) or R3.
