This is an exciting opportunity to join the MSE Innovation Programme which is at the forefront of creating, testing and adopting innovation in the NHS.

We are seeking an Innovation Project Implementation Manager who is experienced in delivering change impacting people, processes and technology, preferably within a healthcare environment. The role will be focused on delivery of innovative projects, supporting staff, patients and residents.

This role is a 6m FTC / Secondment opportunity and will report to the Innovation Programme Manager.

Since 2018, significant work has taken place first across MSENHSFT and then across MSE Integrated Care System (ICS) to understand our innovation readiness as an organisation, develop a flagship fellowship programme and develop new opportunities for innovation and innovators to work with us.

Our shared approach to innovation across the partnership:

Generates or surfaces potential ideas for innovation
Creates consistency in the way these ideas are incubated (including support and investment)
Supports the adoption, adaptation and spread of proven innovations across the Trust
Manages the risks involved by creating clear and transparent decision-making processes at every stage
Improves our innovation capability creating a brand that innovators want to come and work with.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will drive, and be responsible for, the implementation and delivery of innovation projects to achieve programme aims and objectives.

The role involves collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders, and requires excellent communication skills.

It would be beneficial to have experience of:

building effective working relationships
working with patients and members of the public
working in partnership with delivery partners, external suppliers, and businesses
delivering innovation or improvement projects
comms and engagement

Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop project plans and associated communications, benefits and stakeholder documents.
Set, continually manage and effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Support and manage project(s) development and delivery from beginning to end, as agreed and directed by the Programme Director for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors (if required) and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

  • Educated to graduate level or relevant work experience at an equivalent level
