No doubt you have learned a lot already at university, are you ready to put it into practice at IKEA? Well, we are looking for enthusiastic 2nd year students /undergraduates to join our IT team.

Our placement programme is structured to give you the chance to make an impact across the IKEA Information Technology Team. The 12 month placement programme is starting in July 2025 on a full-time basis. By applying to this role, you are applying to join IKEA as a Product Manager.

The UK and Ireland IT team are responsible for ensuring IKEA Digital products and platforms are delivered with excellence to meet the needs of customers across our market, to enhance the whole IKEA shopping experience and to enable co-workers with the tools and capabilities they need to do their best work.

Your role will be varied but exciting and you will have the opportunity to work across our IT team and other functions, building your skills and learning about and applying your knowledge in different.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

You will gain experience managing the local product backlog and maintaining the product landscape, contributing to the UK & IE markets by driving innovation, addressing gaps, and influencing improvements beyond global products.

Backlog Management: Lead the creation, management, and communication of the local product backlog, driving market-specific innovations and improvements.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Proactively engage with stakeholders to gather insights, conduct research, and translate business needs into actionable product ideas.

End-to-End Product Ownership: Manage the product lifecycle from idea generation to delivery, focusing on innovation, proofs of concept, and MVPs.

Global Alignment: Coordinate with global digital teams to ensure seamless transitions from local to global backlogs when necessary.

Collaboration and Co-creation: Work closely with our Software Engineering Team to formulise digital solutions regarding the business problem.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

Students in their second year of university studies, where the course includes the option of completing a sandwich placement before returning to study after the placement. Preferred degrees in Information Technology disciplines.

An intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge accepted ways of doing things.

Those that can work as part of a team, be a great communicator and enjoy delivery and fast paced change.
