About the Role
Base Location: Leeds, Reading, Perth or Glasgow
Salary: £37,600 - £56,400 + Performance-Related Bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The "Thermal Way of Working" will be innovated to be more collaborative, joined up and enable access to the information you need, where you need, when you need it. This requires a radical overhaul of how we manage our information management space - from project start up into project hand over to decommissioning. We need to ensure that we have the processes and information in place to ensure we are working safely, efficiently and towards NetZero. As Information Manager, your role will be crucial for delivering this as part of the Information, Data and Analytics team working across the Thermal business.
The purpose of the Information Manager is to develop and maintain an accurate suite of internal documentations for SSE Thermal's LCP and Operational activities, to drive improvements to business documentation, lead the development of business processes within SSE Thermal by acting as the business expert for Governance Processes. This encompasses business leadership of several crucial areas including:
- Development of new business processes, and associated process maps, Terms of References (ToR), communication toolkits and work instructions necessary to achieve consistent, efficient and compliant business operation, engagement with the process stakeholders to map AS-IS process and process TO-BE.
- Development, review and monitoring of existing business processes and systems to ensure they are reflective of best working practices and requirements.
- Provision of recommendations for improvements through collaborative working, continuous engagement with main stakeholders to gauge their satisfaction with existing process and collecting their ideas for future improvement points.
- Ensuring that end-to-end processes are developed as part of the drive towards continuous improvement across the organisation to efficiently deliver optimal performance for our customers and stakeholders.
- Oversee LCP Project Document Controllers who are responsible for the day to day management and control of project / business documents and records.
- Act as a Key Focal Point for any Document Management queries.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Significant experience of document control and Information Management preferably but not essentially within the utilities, process or oil and gas sector, other industries will be considered.
- Understanding and experience of working within and implementing corporate/functional governance, working knowledge of data privacy, confidentiality and usage rights (essential).
- Experience with electronic document management solutions and information retention, usage, confidentiality and submission compliance.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify detailed technical information.
