Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, innovative professional to join our team.
The key purpose of the role is to develop, implement and actively monitor the Information Governance assurance programme and manage the corporate record and FoI compliance across the Trust.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate experience and a thorough understanding of all aspects of Information Governance in respect of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act. With proven experience of working with stakeholders and employees on their awareness and understanding of IG, the post holder will evidence an excellent track record of undertaking assurance reviews and have responsibility for completing the Data Security and Protection Toolkit including monitoring the action plan.

Main duties of the job
Crucially, the post holder will support both the Head of Information Governance and IG Operations Lead in the establishment and development of a departmental assurance programme and implement departmental assurance reviews across the Trust. This will successfully complement the overall Digital Service strategy to actively monitor and evidence the Trust's compliance with key health and social care IG standards.
Deputising, as required, for the Information Governance Operations Lead when necessary.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage, implement and monitor all Freedom of Information requests to ensure they are completed within the statutory timeframe
• Manage the completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit including monitoring the action plan arising from internal assurance reviews.
• Supporting the Information Governance Training Program by facilitating training sessions as required.
• Managing the Freedom of Information Committee.
• Providing expert Information Governance advice on a wide range of information governance and sharing areas in line with Trust policy and statutory legal framework
• Undertaking assurance and compliance work to support Global Digital Exemplar projects.
• Supporting the Head of IG in collaborative work with the Shared London Partnerships and the Sustainability Transformation Partnerships. External collaboration, working on the Integrated care system.
• Ensure IG Office operates and maintains the highest ethical standards of confidentiality in managing patient and staff information.
• Reviewing information sharing agreements and processing agreements prior to sign off by the Head of IG or SIRO.
• Management of the Corporate IG Officer and EA to Caldicott Guardian
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all IG corporate policies.
• Management of the Information Asset Register
• Support the IG Operations Lead, the Head of Information Governance, Caldicott Guardian and Chief Information Officer to implement the Trust Information Governance Action Plan and Digital Service Strategy.
• Supporting other work as agreed with the IG Operations Lead, the Head of Information Governance, the Caldicott Guardian and the Senior Information Risk Officer/ Chief Digital Information Officer.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience, plus additional specialist knowledge to Masters Degree level or equivalent
- Evidence of professional / managerial development

- Relevant Professional qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience in ad hoc data queries / reports to meet the business needs of the organisation including clinical data quality
- Experience of performance management and reporting issues
- Thorough knowledge and experience of privacy by design
- Experience of writing and reviewing contracts, data sharing and processing agreements
- Experience of undertaking standards, procedures and policies reviews
- Experience of facilitation of a customer focussed culture within a team
- Management of the Information Asset Register
Desirable criteria
- Prince 2, Agile or other Project Management methodologies
- Knowledge of mental health services
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act (2018) and Freedom of Information Act (2000)
- Knowledge and experience of health and corporate records management
- Specialist knowledge and clear understanding and experience of working in accordance with information governance standards operating to high ethical and quality standards at all times
- Knowledge and good understanding of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
- Knowledge/experience of the full range of Microsoft packages
