Job Description

Working in the top ranked Global and EMEA Investment Bank in as part of an experienced and broad VAT team you will have the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of the sector across EMEA and get involved in all aspects of the VAT risk management for the business.

As an Indirect Taxes Manager Vice President in the EMEA Tax department you will be involved in VAT advisory and related compliance responsibilities for EMEA investment banking activities including, but not limited to, corporate finance, capital markets and lending lines of businesses. There may also be indirect tax support required of the commercial banking activity of JP Morgan in EMEA.

Job Responsibilities

  • provides advice and technical guidance to the Business, Operations and Finance teams in various investment banking lines of business and jurisdictions.
  • reviews existing procedures and draft new procedures where required.
  • implements best practice across investment banking lines of business and legal entities.
  • performs project management.
  • performs various VAT compliance activities.
  • reviews new products and new business initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • relevant professional qualification,
  • practical experience in dealing with UK and EU FS VAT matters
  • strong communication and inter-personal skills, an attention to detail, is a team player and able to act independently, and deliver whilst working in a demanding fast paced environment
  • professional work experience within either a big 4 or top tier accountancy firm, a law firm or from a financial services business

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • CTA Qualified (indirect tax route) or equivalent.
