Inclusion Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

We are seeking the right candidate for the role of Inclusion Manager at Leigh Academy Rainham. This role will entail leading and supervising the students in our internal exclusion room. They will take responsibility for the structures and routines in place within this setting providing a silent working space for students who need additional support to reset their behaviours prior to returning to lessons. Students who access this provision have either been removed from lessons to ensure the learning can continue disruption free for their peers, or are spending a period of time in the setting as an alternative to a suspension for breaches of the behaviour policy. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to help shape how this provision evolves as the Academy continues to grow. They will be working alongside the senior leadership team and student services managers to also, where possible, provide interventions to avoid repeat behaviours for individual students. When not running the internal exclusion room they will be supporting the college student services teams on patrol, with detentions or the behaviour admin team with record keeping, tracking student's chronologies and logging behavioural support events taking place in the academy.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong, resilient character who is experienced at working with secondary age students who may present challenging behaviours for a variety of reasons e.g. where additional learning needs cause barriers to learning or for safeguarding reasons. They may already have experience in, or be open to being trained in, offering interventions for students to support with behavioural aspects such as anger management. They will have effective digital and administrative skills to support with the record keeping that is required for the internal exclusion room and students who access it.

There is potentially flexibility with the hours of the role, with a possibility of extending these to 5pm for the right candidate, to supervise students who are directed to stay in the internal exclusion room until this time.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week term time + 1 week of inset and offers an actual salary of £26,830 - £30,404 per annum (£31,194 - £35,349 full-time equivalent) based on experience.
