Job Title: Import / Export Administrator

Location: Glascoed. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £32,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Issuing clearance instructions to Freight Agents
  • Processing of Import / Export requests to produce accurate shipping documentation to include commercial invoices, cargo manifests, packing lists and dangerous goods notes
  • Engaging with hauliers and freight agents to ensure the most appropriate shipping solutions based on cost and delivery schedules
  • Knowledge of the HMRC tariff to include commodity codes, customs procedure codes and duty requirements
  • Providing accurate instructions and checking freight forwarders adherence to them
  • Maintenance of Electronic filing systems and Databases
  • Production of KPI’s to reflect departmental throughput and adherence to service level agreements
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry guidelines

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

  • Ability to work effectively towards deadlines
  • Proven IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Office
  • Previous experience working in an administrative role

Desirable:

  • Experience in an Import / Export role is desirable
  • Knowledge of Import / Export Procedures
  • Experience of the Defence industry is desirable
