We have an exciting new opportunity for an Identity & Access Management Analyst to join our IT team, based in the A&O Shearman Belfast office.

The Information Security team is a strategic enabler for our global law firm, focused on protecting client data, intellectual property, and business operations while enabling secure innovation. Through four key pillars - Digital Trust, Security Architecture & Engineering, Cyber Defence, and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) - the team delivers comprehensive security solutions that align with our firm's strategic objectives as well as client and regulatory requirements.

What you will do

The Identity and Access Analyst will be Digital Trust team member with the responsibility for executing key processes and maintaining core technology solutions of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) function. IAM involves identity management, identity governance and administration, privileged access, non-human identity (NHI) management, and conditional access at A&O Shearman.

This role requires a good understanding of IAM principles and technologies, as well as a willingness to learn and grow in the field of IAM. The Analyst will work with other Digital Trust team members to ensure the security, compliance, and efficiency of access management processes and controls.

IAM (including PAM) Tooling & Platform Management

  • Monitor IAM technology solution(s) for performance and security.
  • Resolve issues relating to the IAM technology solution(s).
  • Complete requests and provide support to the end users across the IAM services.
  • Onboard new accounts to the privileged access solution and enforce controls.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and presentations on identity and access management best practices.

IAM Processes and Controls

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of end-to-end IAM controls, access policies, process flows, procedural documentation, and operational playbooks.
  • Implement and perform access certification campaigns in accordance with IAM policies.
  • Perform changes required to privileged access when a mover, leaver, or suspension/termination event occurs.
  • Monitor privileged access activity and investigate suspicious behaviour.
  • Monitor and validate ongoing compliance with IAM security requirements.
  • IAM request fulfilment supporting wider IT Business function.
  • Champion identity and access management across the organisation and drive an evolved culture of risk awareness and mitigation.
  • Provide training and support to end users of IAM.

What you will have

  • Experience working in IAM, across any combinations of disciplines such as identity governance and administration, privileged access management, conditional access, authentication.
  • Experience in multi-national organizations is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of IAM principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Identity products: Active Directory, Entra ID.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, authentication methods, and authorisation frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A genuine passion for continuous learning and development in cybersecurity and identity and access management, staying up to date with the latest developments, trends, and technologies in the field.

You will stand out if you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience with CyberArk and exposure to Privileged Access Management tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of encryption, PKI, and digital certificate management.
  • Professional security certifications, such as: Microsoft Azure Expert, Microsoft Cybersecurity Expert, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance & Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), CompTIA Security+ or GIAC certifications.
