Salary: circa GBP 60,000 depending on experience

Location: Canary Wharf

WFH policy: Employees are required to attend the office 2 days/week

Role Summary:The Hydrogen Metering Manager role is focused on owning and improving metering provisions and processes in the new Hydrogen schemes that LCCC is the Counterparty for including the Low Carbon Hydrogen Agreement (LCHA), Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard (LCHS) and Low Carbon Hydrogen Certification.

Working within the Sustainability and Emissions team in the Operational Assurance area, you will become an expert in your metering area and help shape its future direction. You will play an instrumental role in improving existing and designing new processes and lead on the implementation of these to ensure data integrity within the schemes that we operate.

You will also play a leading role in managing various metering contracts for LCCC that support our schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert within the business for all Hydrogen Metering related issues and work packages.
  • Understand, and contribute to the development of the relevant Annex of the Low Carbon Hydrogen Agreement (LCHA).
  • Understand the interactions between Hydrogen Metering and other metering assets (electricity, gas, CO2 etc metering) within the scope of the Hydrogen Production and Certification schemes.
  • Lead on the development of internal workshops, guidance documentation and processes relating to Hydrogen Metering, in particular ensuring compliance of Hydrogen Producers with the relevant metering requirements under the Hydrogen Production and Certification schemes.
  • Liaise with the relevant LCCC personnel to ensure any Hydrogen Metering assets are incorporated into LCCC's Head End System (HES) - a key communication system used to gather operational data on our counterparties Facilities.
  • Be responsible for LCCC's due diligence in relation to auditing Producers metering equipment and documentation.
  • Manage any necessary LCCC relationships and contracts with third parties with regards to hydrogen metering services (audits/documentation reviews etc).
  • Where appropriate, contribute to industry standards and development in relation to Hydrogen Metering on behalf of LCCC.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years operational experience in gas, off-shore or water metering
  • Knowledge of the wider metering markets
  • Experience of designing and implementing new processes
  • Experience in designing and testing assurance plans
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to convey complex/technical concepts
  • Stakeholder and relationship management experience preferable.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in Hydrogen.
  • Previous operational experience in electricity metering.
  • Previous university qualification in Engineering or a similar technical qualification.
