What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include
- Act as business partner on human rights with two of the four key clusters within the Foods business
- Lead on our strategic 'protect' pillar, which includes the M&S Worker Voice Programme and Human Rights Due Diligence Programme and is fundamental to our strategy and brand integrity
- Manage relevant workstreams under our 'enhance' pillar, working closely with category teams on opportunities and active programmes to enhance livelihoods
- Be a passionate advocate for human rights within the business, driving internal engagement as a recognised subject matter expert
- Work closely with our suppliers and key external stakeholders to build capacity and drive industry change where needed
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include
- Experience of working in ethical trade and human rights
- Passionate about driving progress on human rights and an ability to manage and motivate internal and external stakeholders to support outcomes
- Knowledgeable about key standards, topics and challenges on human rights and responsible sourcing
- Experience of working collaboratively with external stakeholders (including certifiers, NGOS, and multi-stakeholder initiatives)
- Strong communications and engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior colleagues
