Job Description

Salary: Base salary: £38,550- £45,350 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Learning Legacy Manager at HS2 you will deliver HS2's Learning Legacy programme, which collates and disseminates good practice, innovation and lessons learned from HS2 both internally and externally - aimed at raising the bar in the wider industry.

About the role:

  • Leading the implementation and continual development of the Learning Legacy programme across the organisation
  • Engaging with knowledge theme leads, topic champions and other learning legacy sources, both in HS2 and the supply chain, for the generation of learning legacy content
  • Maintaining a schedule of planned learning legacy content updates and associated timelines. This includes the management of bespoke challenges and competitions designed to generate the submission of technical lessons learned from across HS2 and its supply chain
  • Reviewing draft learning legacy content and providing constructive feedback to authors, supported by a technical editor as required
  • Managing the approval and publishing process with relevant colleagues from the External Affairs Directorate
  • Editing, formatting and redacting Learning Legacy documents, where necessary, to enable publication
  • Leading the development and day-to-day management of the Learning Legacy website working closely with the Digital Media and Content team
  • Uploading and publishing content on the learning legacy website, and working with wider colleagues to promote its availability - across HS2, its supply chain and the wider industry
  • Working with the Major Projects Association to surface HS2 Learning Legacy content in the Major Projects Knowledge Hub.
  • Establishing and maintaining the Learning Legacy Ambassador programme for connecting learning legacy authors to industry partner events
  • Developing/maintaining the relationships with industry partners for dissemination events, peer review and publications
  • Working with the wider events team to plan and deliver a programme of industry-facing learning legacy events
  • Supporting the Technical Papers Competition including Secretariat to the Technical Review Panel
  • Developing a communications plan with the internal and external communications teams to generate engagement with the learning legacy both internally and externally, while raising the profile of HS2's learning legacy in the industry
  • Adhering to HS2 Ltd's Health and Safety policies.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

Skills:

  • Knowledge management skills, including the ability to effectively assess and communicate complex information
  • Communications skills with an ability to work at all levels of an organisation, and build relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Editorial skills, including the ability to review and edit complex documentation and summarise key points articulately
  • Organisational and project management skills
  • Use of Microsoft office/365, SharePoint and WordPress
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently

Knowledge:

  • Understanding the implementation of a programme of Learning Legacy and its continual development
  • Knowledge of project management practice including time, cost and quality management
  • Understanding of designing and developing innovative and interactive digital content

Type of experience:

  • Experience of building relationships and working collaboratively with others
  • Experience of working to deadlines and organising accordingly
  • Experience of knowledge management and sharing programmes
