Asset Manager

We are looking for a motivated Asset Manager to join the team in Bristol. In this role, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of operational solar assets, ensuring best-in-class standards for health, safety, environmental performance and contractual compliance, while actively driving asset performance, availability and long-term value.
Working closely with internal teams and a wide network of external contractors, advisers and stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising generation, managing risk, and delivering robust asset management across Bluefield's portfolio-helping ensure our solar farms operate safely, efficiently and profitably today and into the future.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Management of the contracts of the SPVs and ongoing activities to ensure that all assets are in compliance with:
    1. Statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental performance,
    2. Local planning authority requirements,
    3. Grid company connection conditions and power purchase agreements,
    4. Other agreements in place.
  2. Optimise project performance:
    1. Monitor contractor performance during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with a view to ensuring all contracted SLA's are met or bettered,
    2. Review and enhance maintenance strategies and activities with a view to reducing down time,
    3. Review regular and other reporting provided by the contractors and ensure any issues are being suitably addressed,
    4. Build strong relationships with contractors,
    5. Direct supervision of sub-contractors or overseeing the work of management contractors where required,
    6. Identify and establish the necessary KPIs to monitor the performance of each asset.
  3. Identify equipment faults, carry out diagnoses and troubleshooting activities with support from O&M or the Monitoring Team towards remedying operational problems
  4. Prepare regular asset management reports on each asset.
  5. Be the primary Ofgem contact person for the managed assets.
  6. Visit company sites to assess status and conditions of the solar farm; maximum of 4 per year per project.
  7. Manage:
    1. Spare parts and strategies with aim to reduce risk and downtimes;
    2. Insurance claims
    3. Warranty claims
    4. Review of site performance calculations;
    5. Ad-hoc performance analysis
    6. Recording and review of key deadlines under project contracts, together with contract tendering and renewal, including DC/DA/MOP contracts, Warranty extensions, O&M/OEM SLA's.
    7. Scheduling and co-ordination of Planned preventative maintenance to optimise performance and minimise risk
    8. Site OPEX and Capex budgets and forecasting
    9. Site strategies
    10. Site specific projects and major works
    11. Maintenance of Operating Plans, Asset Registers and other management tools as necessary.
  8. Maintain data security and confidentiality by using information within the parameters of the job role, any applicable SLAs, the company data policies and / or privacy notices and the statutory guidelines set out within the GDPR and any associated UK legislation. Pay particular regard to any data that is generated by CCTV or that may be classified as personal data.
  9. Comply with all required fire, health and safety requirements for the environment in which you are working, including making yourself aware of the current applicable policies and risk assessments and acting accordingly, and attending any required training.
