Role: HR Manager (maternity cover)
Dates: Ideally to start Mid October 2024, but can wait until early December for the right person - for one year fixed term contract
Location: London
Talented People is working with Banijay UK to find an experienced Generalist HR Manager for a one year maternity leave contract.

This role will involve working with the HR & Operations Director and the HR team to support the scripted production labels and core finance functions within the business production labels and core finance functions within the business. The role will ensure that managers and employees are given informed and professional advice and support on all HR matters.

This is a generalist operational role with a key focus on delivering recruitment, people development, employee relations, restructures, compensation and benefits strategy to various company entities within the Banijay UK group. It will involve supporting production with generalist HR advice particularly around creating a supportive and inclusive working environment both on location and at the office.

Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to line managers and employees on HR related issues.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from working with managers to draft job specifications, devising recruitment plans, engaging agencies, posting job adverts, managing applications (both on Workday and manually), sourcing candidates, shortlisting suitable candidates, organising interviews, conducting interviews, giving feedback, to negotiating terms of offers.
  • Provide advice and support to managers in respect of employment relations issues, to ensure they are handled effectively and professionally, including absence, capability, and performance, disciplinary and grievance, restructuring and redundancy.
  • Attend production start-up meetings advising on wellbeing and safeguarding processes, act as initial point of call for any HR queries or complaints from production crew.
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of HR policy and procedures.
  • Produce timely and relevant management information for the business and Group when requested.
  • Drafting of non-production fixed term and permanent contracts, advise HR Coordinator and/or production teams on queries related to production templates.
  • Provide advice on all production contracting issues such as IR35, HMRC guidelines on Film & TV approved roles for Self Employed/Loan Out arrangements and holiday calculations.
  • Consult and advise management and staff on all leave related policies such as maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, jury service, holiday etc.
  • Manage all relevant administration, contracting, and benefits admin for the relevant business areas (with support from the HR Coordinator).
  • Advise employees on benefit entitlements and schemes.
  • Oversee monthly payroll processing input, working with the HR Coordinator and payroll team.
  • Provide guidance on development for managers and their teams, promoting career development. Support the design and delivery of training initiatives.
  • Attend any relevant business meetings to establish and maintain relationships and contribute to business discussions.
  • Provide operational and implementation support to HR & Operations Director on ad hoc projects.

Key Requirements:

  • Flexible attitude and able to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates high energy, ability to use own initiative and exercise discretion.
  • Enthusiastic hands-on approach, willingness to immerse themselves into the business and wider company.
  • Genuine passion for content.
  • Experience and wanting to work in a non-corporate, true HR generalist role.
  • HR experience - able to work autonomously when needed.
  • CIPD qualification (advantageous but not essential).
