As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated HR Manager to join our Operational HR Team, based at our Hereford site.
The role is site officebased, working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG environment, working Monday - Friday 37.5hrs per week.
What will you be doing as a HR Manager at Avara?
The HR Manager serves as a business partner, working closely with the site leadership team. The HR Manager will develop an effective working partnership with managers and colleagues to ensure the provision of timely, professional and effective HR related advice within Company policy and legal requirements.
What will your key responsibilities as HR Manager include?
- Serving as the primary point of contact for comprehensive HR advice and support across all management levels
- Ensuring consistent application of HR processes throughout the site
- Monitoring and facilitating compliance with Human Rights and Ethics policies, supporting audits, and guiding managers
- Collaborating with the Site Operational Team to manage headcount requirements, retention, and recruitment planning and onboarding
- Overseeing the site's Learning and Development initiatives, in alignment with succession planning, regulatory requirements and skills development
- Spearheading employee engagement strategies, including leading forums, union meetings, and listening groups
- Providing and monitoring up-to-date KPIs on compliance matters
- Leading people change projects as necessary
- Working closely with the wider HR Teams to deliver comprehensive HR support
- Cultivating and managing relationships with external partners such as Occupational Health and contractor
- Leading and developing a team of HR professionals onsite
What you'll need to be successful as HR Manager?
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or fast paced organisation in a HR Manager role (Food Industry experience is desirable)
- CIPD level 5 qualified or above and committed to continued professional development
- Strong knowledge in employment law and regulations and experience in advising on complex ER matters
- Knowledge and experience of managing large change projects including restructures and changes to terms and conditions
- Experience of working with Trade Unions
- Resilience, great influencing, and communication skills
- Confident leadership skills with a knack for motivating, mentoring and developing teams
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages.
