What does the job involve?
- Providing expert advice, guidance and support in disciplinaries, grievances and absence management
- Managing multiple stakeholders - both face-to-face and remotely
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensuring HR cases are concluded efficiently and correctly
- Attending employment tribunals - when required
- Upskilling managers and leaders through the business on HR processes and ways of working
- Working closely with HR colleagues, and other teams within the business, to deliver an efficient service to key stakeholders
What skills and experience do I need to do the job?
- Previous practical HR case management experience
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Ideally some exposure to a unionised working environment
- Good attention to detail - spotting issues before they become problems
- Prioritisation and organisational skills - able to manage conflicting priorities and ensure delivery
- Being comfortable a demanding workload, involving travelling to other sites along the rail network
- A solid background in a HR role - with a focus on employee relations
- Live within 1.5 hours commute of Birmingham
