Base Location: UK Wide, with occasional visits to Watford

Why Join KPMG as an In-House Partner's Tax Manager

KPMG is looking to recruit a Manager in their in-house Tax team, specialising in partner tax compliance. Reporting to the Senior Manager in the Partner Tax Compliance team, the individual will be required to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. The work is by nature high profile and the ability to treat matters with the utmost confidentiality will be key. The role involves interacting with individual partners and working alongside other internal departments including the Partnership Office, Risk and Independence, payroll and OGC to deliver an efficient tax compliance and advisory service to partners as well as the partnership.

What will you be doing?

  • Agent for 800+ partners - tax returns, and handling HMRC enquiries into individual partner affairs
  • Preparation of partner split of taxable profit and related communications
  • Managing the self-assessment tax compliance process for partners
  • Supporting Partnership Accounts on various partner related issues; e.g. income tax retentions
  • Dealing with increased compliance issues resulting from basis period reform
  • Dealing with UK partner compliance issues arising from increased global mobility
  • Performance Management responsibilities for Assistant Managers, including overseeing work of team members
  • Supporting partners with their tax affairs at each stage of the partner lifecycle
  • Ad hoc advice on partner related issu

What will you need to do it?

  • CTA or ACA qualified with experience in private clients and with a strong background in personal tax return compliance
  • Highly resilient and provides persuasive and self-assured responses in a credible manner
  • Applies sound judgment when faced with challenging decisions
  • Excellent project management skills and takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work and provides guidance to others
  • Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work
