DWF's Client Care team are hiring a Professional Risks Manager.
As In House Professional Risks Manager you will be in close contact with many of our stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will handle internal enquiries about claims notifications and advise upon responses to claims, as well as related issues such as conflicts of interest. Further responsibilities will include notifying and liaising with insurers, and internal MI reporting.
The role holds the opportunity to develop both yourself and the wider team, and for your work to have a global impact across the business.
You will work with our highly experienced Senior Risks Manager, and manage the Professional Risks Associate.
This a flexible role, and we are open to the successful individual working on an agile basis from any of our offices across England.
This role offers the opportunity for career progression in the near future so motivation and ambition are necessary for a successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Advising on responses to claims and related issues such as conflicts of interest;
- Notifying claims and claim circumstances to insurers and liaising with insurers;
- Managing claims including complex claims with guidance from the Senior Professional Risks Manager;
- Negotiating settlements with claimants or lawyers;
- Instruct and collaborate with external lawyers
- Undertake root cause analysis and proactively support discussions with teams on improving working practices to minimise the risk of claims;
- Supervise other team members, ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with our policies and procedures, offer support, guidance and training to develop their knowledge;
- Support the development of the fee earners, establishing common trends and areas of training, and deliver training to the teams;
- Work collaboratively with the Complaints Manager, where appropriate, to improve knowledge across the key areas of professional risk and complaints;
- Preparing internal MI reports for various stakeholders including the Risk Committee and the Executive Board;
- Mitigate legal risks and develop strategies to improve risk management
What will help you succeed in this role?
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years PQE experience
- Extensive claims handling experience on complex insurance claims
- Excellent communication skills, for interactions and liaison with important insurer stakeholders and others across the business
