About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our busy and dynamic finance team on a maternity cover, fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Accounts Payable Manager to bring expertise, leadership and efficiency to the team. This role will focus on ensuring the smooth operation of Sage's Purchase to Pay (P2P) system, enabling efficient processing of requisitions through to supplier payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end P2P and employee expenses system (Coupa).
- Supervise the Accounts Payable team, ensuring invoices are processed efficiently and in line with internal policies and payment terms.
- Produce and maintain a weekly aged-creditor listing, identifying and executing actions for review while delegating tasks effectively.
- Maintain the integrity of procurement policies and supplier records, verifying and authorising changes.
- Assist with the validation and preparation of invoices, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee and review weekly payment runs, both manual and through Coupa.
- Reconcile credit ledger accounts monthly and maintain accurate account balances.
- Record and allocate transactions within the accounting software (QL).
- Review and improve P2P procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Act as the frontline Coupa administrator, ensuring the system runs smoothly in collaboration with internal and external experts.
- Work with suppliers to increase adoption of the Coupa supplier portal and drive internal adoption of invoice reading technology.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Accounts Payable team during peak periods and staff absences.
- Support month-end tasks and respond to ad hoc queries as required.
About you
- Extensive experience in an Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger environment.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams in a collaborative and positive manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and under minimal supervision.
- Experience in reviewing processes, implementing changes, and improving internal controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
