Hedging for Asset Managers, Sales

We have an opportunity for an experienced private markets professional to become a product and sales specialist, working with our colleagues in our Hedging for Asset Managers product team.

The successful candidate will use their extensive knowledge of private markets to lead and implement the sales and marketing strategy for this product area, principally in the UK. They are likely to be working in the asset management industry or for a service provider within private markets. Currency experience is an advantage but not a necessity. The individual will need to be prepared to quickly build up a complete understanding of our Hedging for Asset Managers product and service offering so the successful candidate needs to have a technical background and be familiar with the products that the team currently work with.

This is an exciting growth area for Record which requires a commercial sales professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and drive and ambition to succeed. Whilst this is a newer service that Record provides, our business has been established for over 40 years and you will be supported by strong operational and product colleagues.

Record's services include currency management, sustainable finance, and asset management. Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices.

Record's offices are in London and Windsor in the UK, Zürich, New York, Amsterdam, and Düsseldorf. The relevant team are based in the London office.

Position: Sales

Department: Investment Strategy

Location: London based

Role: Full time (37.5 hours per week). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the London office

Line Manager: Head of Fund Hedging Solutions

Key areas of responsibility and activities:

  • Lead the sales and marketing strategy for Hedging for Asset Managers
  • Lead outreach plan and the implementation of the strategy
  • Lead initial calls and meetings with prospective clients and manage the entire engagement and sales process
  • Ultimately raise assets and then be part of the client onboarding team
  • Conduct any market and product research as required
  • Manage budget for marketing and conferences and attend as required, building our market profile
  • Work closely with the product team, involving them in the sales strategy as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in private markets, specifically credit
  • Relevant product / industry experience, or experience working for a service provider
  • Currency management experience desired but not essential
  • Previous experience creating an implementing a sales and marketing strategy
  • Strong writing, presenting and sales skills
  • Able to technically understand how the product and service is delivered and be able to have reasonably technical conversations with prospective clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Have the drive and energy to grow this part of our business
