General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Health & Safety Manager to join our established team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of 46,400 to 58,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.

Joining an established team based at our Merthyr ( South Wales ) facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders Working closely with the Senior Leadership team members, working in partnership with the customer and liaising with other third party organisations including the recognised trade union to ensure successful and safe execution of the business programmes. The H&S Manager will have the autonomy and initiative to work on all aspects of the Occupational health & safety management system, whilst also having the support of other GD colleagues and corporate forums, and executive sponsorship from the VP/GM.

• Developing occupational health and safety policy and governance arrangements
• aligning occupational health and safety strategy with organisational strategy
• integrating occupational health and safety decision-making with business decision-making and risk management

• In-depth knowledge of UK Safety Regulations
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Patience and the ability to work calmly in high-pressure environments
• Negotiation Skills and the ability to influence others
• Research and Analytical Skills
• Knowledge of Laser Safety Officer and Radiation Protection Supervisor roles advantageous
• Excellent organisational Skills
• Ability to prioritise mupltiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
• Ability to give constructive feedback to all levels of staff
• Supervisory/Management experience
• Employee mentoring & development experience desirable
• Successful applicants will have the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or IOSH Level 6 Diploma in OSH Leadership & Management
