Job summary
This role is a joint appointment between the Medicine Clinical Board and Strategy Division. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to enable the design and delivery of the Trust's heath inequalities and population health programmes, working across the Trust and North Central London (NCL) to tackle health inequalities and improve the health of our local population.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, experienced in analysing and synthesising data, a confident leader of multi-stakeholder projects and passionate about health equity.
This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2024. Secondments will be supported for suitable candidates.
Main duties of the job
Main responsibilities include:
- Analysing complex data to identify opportunities for addressing health inequalities.
- Drawing upon expertise and knowledge of population health interventions.
- Delivering health improvement projects from start to finish, working collaboratively with operational and clinical colleagues across the Trust and tracking and evaluating the impact of projects and interventions, using recognised methodologies.
- Providing overall support to a complex and wide-reaching programme, including secretariat for Programme Board meetings and project highlight reports.
- Supporting the development of a Trust Health Inequalities Strategy in 2023/24.

- High standard of written and spoken English
- Project management qualification or relevant project experience
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of issues across the NHS and NHS patient agenda
- Knowledge and understanding of health inequalities and population health agendas
Work Experience
Essential
- Experience of working at a management level within the NHS or similar environment.
- Demonstrable NHS/ public sector experience and knowledge
- Experience of managing complex projects and programmes that cross multiple teams and stakeholders
- Experience of service redesign and development
- A proven record in successful leadership of complex operational change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality
- Quality focused with and innovative approach and the ability to solve complex problems.

- Experience of leadership of clinical services.
